Labradorite is such a stunning mineral. It's an enjoyable challenge to decide what shape to cut the stone that will accentuate its flash as much as possible. For this one, the shape was a teardrop. The blue flash, with hints of green and gray, is simply beautiful. The stone is set in sterling silver, with a saw tooth bezel. The shape is outlined with silver ball wire. To make the back just a decorative, I textured the metal. It hangs from a delicate loop bail and a sterling ball chain necklace. Be sure to check out the photo of the rough slab the stone was cut from, contrasted with the cut and high-polished pendant. The sterling silver was oxidized and polished for contrast and highlights.

Materials: Sterling silver, Labradorite.

Measurements: The chain is 17" long. The pendant measures 1" wide x 2 1/2" long.

Jewelry Care: To preserve the patina, avoid immersing it in water or getting hand/body lotion on it. As metals do, over time the necklace will tarnish due to body oils. It can be polished with any jewelry cloth. Just take care to only polish the raised areas, as the cloth will remove the patina. To preserve the patina, I recommend keeping it stored in a plastic bag.

Shipping: Your one-of-a-kind piece is available and ships within three business days. It ships in a sturdy box, along with a pretty cool decorative package, suitable for gift-giving. Please see Shipping Policy below for more details.
